To Students:

Welcome to the Bridging the Watershed (BTW) website! There’s a lot for you to see here, but first we want you to know what we are. BTW is an environmental education program created by naturalists, classroom teachers, and national park rangers working together to bring a unique experience to secondary students across the DC metro region. This program, a partnership between the Alice Ferguson Foundation and the National Park Service, gives you the opportunity to learn outside of the classroom, the opportunity to visit a national park, the opportunity to be a field scientist.

We hope you find all sorts of cool things on our Website – games, photos, student reflections – but mostly, we want you to use these pages to prepare yourself for a field study. BTW field studies happen in national parks, where BTW educators and national park rangers use nature as their classroom to teach you about issues that threaten the health of the environment.

This "Students" section is all about YOU. When you mouse-over the tabs on your left, you’ll get an idea of what’s inside. Spend some time clicking through the pages – you will have much more fun on your field study if you come prepared!
